Critical Grok?!
A downloadable hombrew ruleset.
Critical Grok?! is a set of homebrewed optional rules I developed for the game Grok?! intended to make the game have a more traditional TTRPG feel. Not that I think it needed it, but to address some of my players’ preferences.
My intention was not to replace the original game by repackaging it with my own rules, but to add a mask that players could layer on top of the original game, using whatever they wanted to from it, and leaving out the rest.
It was born out of my love for the original game in an attempt to introduce some of the elements that are more familiar in other TTRPGs, while keeping the original rules as untouched as possible.
Important Note: You need the Grok?! Core Rules in order to use this ruleset.
Includes optional rules for:
- Playing with a fourth Attribute
- Advanced combat, along with combat-related Aspects
- Magic (special action) system
- Character development
- Character classes
Additionally, it includes:
- List of tools and other common items
- List of magic items
